The primary goal of measuring centrifugal separation is the separation factor. It shows the ratio of the centrifugal force and gravity of the separated material in the drum. The larger the separation factor, the more agile the separation is, and the better the separation effect. The separation factor of industrial centrifugal separator is usually 100 ~ 20,000, the separation factor of super-speed tube type separator can be as high as 62,000, and the analysis factor of analysis of ultra-speed separator is as high as 610,000. The filtration centrifuge and the sedimentation centrifuge mainly rely on increasing the diameter of the rotating drum to enlarge the working surface on the circumference of the rotating drum; apart from the peripheral wall of the rotating drum, there are additional working surfaces such as the discs and chambers of the disk-type separating machine. In addition, the more difficult it is to separate the solid particles in the suspension, the finer particles will be added in the filtrate or separation solution. In this case, the centrifugal separator needs a higher separation factor to effectively separate; When the viscosity of the liquid is large, the separation speed is slowed down; the density difference of each component of the suspension or emulsion is large, which is beneficial to centrifugal sedimentation, and the centrifugal filtration of the suspension does not require a density difference of each component.
The selection of a centrifugal separator must be based on the size and concentration of solid particles in the suspension (or emulsion), the density difference between the solid and the liquid (or two liquids), the viscosity of the liquid, the characteristics of the filter residue (or sediment), and the request for separation Comprehensive analysis will be carried out to meet the requirements for the moisture content of the filter residue (sediment) and the clarity of the filtrate (separation liquid), and preliminary selection of which type of centrifuge is used. Then according to the processing capacity and the automation request for the operation, the type and standard of the centrifuge are determined, and finally verified by actual experiments.
Generally, for suspensions rich in particles with a particle size greater than 0.01 mm, a filter centrifuge can be used. For particles in suspension that are fine or shrinkable, a sedimentation centrifuge should be used. For suspensions with low solids content, fine particles and When the liquid clarity request is high, a separate machine should be used.
The future development trend of centrifugal separation machine will be to strengthen the separation function, develop large-scale centrifugal separation machine, improve the slag unloading organization, add special and combined drum centrifuges, strengthen the separation theory discussion and discuss the centrifugal separation process to optimize the control skills.
